Heartland Industries, Inc. is a nonprofit Day Training and Habilitation organization. Our Day Training and Habilitation services started in 1990 in Dawson Minnesota. Since then we have grown from six consumers to one hundred sixty five consumers. We currently provide Day Training and Habilitation (DT&H) and Supported Employment (SES) services for consumers with disabilities including developmental (DD), Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), Mental Illness (SPMI) and Community Alternatives for Disabled Individuals (CADI).

We believe we provide an excellent service, yet we strive to do better. We care about the quality of service we provide to the consumers we serve. We have seen consumers who lack motivation for improving their well being, grow to become responsible people in their community. When they succeed we believe that our work is worthwhile.

As operators of Heartland Industries, Mike and Barb Hillenbrand have 43 years of combined experience
working with people with disabilities. Their expertise has been drawn from being foster parents for three
gentlemen for five years. They have also gained wisdom through their work experiences in the areas of Human Services as Job Coaches, Program Coordinators in Supported Living Settings, In-Home support services, nursing, and staff training.
